Hello! [07 Jul 2005|11:05am]
Well, I don't think I have written in this for a year or longer. Not sure why. I guess I have been off in my own little world, not updating. It's so depressing to turn on the news. Today attacks on London. Its weird because its so easy to get lost in this little bubble called Orange County and not to even fathom all the awful things around us. I think sometimes we aren't in touch with reality.

hmm.

Well, this Easter weekend was pretty fun. Yesterday I went to see "Malibu's Most Wanted." And... I have to admit, I laughed the entire time. It was a great movie. Very happy I went to see it. Other than that, it was pretty mellow.

Well, today is going good. I am having my morning coffee, and it is yummy. I have a lot of work to do, and this coffee will help a lot. I did not get a chance to watch the new "That 70's Show" last night. Lately I have been completely into it, and want to know if anything happened. Please does anyone know?

On another note... I have to attend these alcohol prevention classes every week for 3 months, and I have 3 left now. Last night there was one of the kids from my class who had his skateboard under his feet. Knowing from the week before he lived near the beach, I said to him... "Wow... you skating all the way here!" He said nope. So I asked how he got here, and he said he drove... I just keep looking at him strangely, then the skateboard, and couldn't figure out why he brought his board inside the class w/him. I asked him if he was going to show us tricks or something on break. He didn't like that at all. But seriously. He reminded me of the kid in Clueless who has his board w/him in class. Except this is worse, because his car was parked right out front the door. He was carried w/him for looks I guess. Sheesh!

Today looks like a beautiful day out. From my office window, I see all sunshine, but I will be here all day today. I did not work yesterday, so I have a lot of catch up work to do.
I went to dinner last night w/my best friend. I know that he is being different to me. I tried to make things normal again, but I know he feels strange. I hope he doesn't end up resenting me. That would break my heart.

ugh.

Triple Filter Test, Gossip, Slander [17 Feb 2003|10:36am]
In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.
One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?"
Hold on a minute," Socrates replied "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."
"Triple filter?"
"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend,it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test.
The first filter is ---
Truth.
Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."
All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or
not.
Now let's try the second filter,
the filter of Goodness.
Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true.
You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left:
the filter of Usefulness.
Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

This is why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high
esteem.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! [14 Feb 2003|09:39am]
Hope everyone has a great day today. I have a lot of work to do, but hope to leave somewhat early today. And I am very excited that it is Friday! I don't really have any big plans for the weekend. I am hoping I can get around to cleaning house. As non-exciting as that sounds, I will be very excited to having finished that.
I was listening to KIIS this morning. They had a blind date wedding on the air. Can you imagine meeting someone for the first time at the altar? I think it sounds crazy.

I can't stop the rain. [13 Feb 2003|04:11pm]
But it looks like it might actually be done, maybe... At least for the past couple hours. Thank goodness too.

I haven't been doing anything much lately. I did go to the Lakers game, but other than that, nothing really. I am just having a hard time w/everything around me. My best friend for one. He isn't moving anymore. Great. I am glad he is finding his peace again. But lately he just seems to take all his anger out on me. He just seems different lately. Almost like, I was part of the reason he stayed. I told him to begin with not to base his staying on any one thing, or one person. But, inside when he decided to stay, I sorta had the feeling I was part of why. Maybe thats why I am distancing myself. I want him to find happiness, and I don't want to be the cause of unhappiness. So, I can continue to distance myself, w/hopes he finds what he is looking for, but cause tension in the mean time. Or I can hang out all the time, and know he is clinging onto that for happiness.

I am confused. I think I confused myself by writing this. UGH>

The game was fun last night. It is amazing to see people look so natural flying thru the air and dunking the ball. Kobe is amazing. Even if you don't like the Lakers, you have to admit, he is one great player. But I love the Lakers.

To top off the free tickets to the game that came w/free parking, when I get into work, there is 6 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts. And for those of you who have had Krispy Kreme, you know what the excitement is about!
